Welcome to the International Council for
Quality Function Deployment. QFD is a quality approach to new product design, development,
and implementation driven by customer needs and values. QFD has been successfully used by
many world class organizations in automobiles, ship building, electronics, aerospace,
utilities, leisure and entertainment, financial, software, and other industries.
The ICQFD represents the coordinated efforts of QFD practitioners and researchers
worldwide. Here you will find information about events and issues of international
importance.
Our Vision and Mission
Our vision is to see a united effort by various national QFD organizations to leverage
our synergy and mutual interests to promote QFD as a 'best practices' method of producing
products and services that satisfy customers.
To achieve this, our mission is to promote local QFD events, convene an annual
International Symposium of QFD, and promote QFD related research.
Council Profile
The ICQFD
was established at the conclusion of the 3rd International Symposium on QFD in 1997.
Our purpose is to provide a unified body to coordinate the many local QFD
organizations, efforts, and events around the world. QFD practitioners can enjoy a single
window to these global activities.
The Council meets at every International QFD
Symposium. Invitations are extended to those attendees who have demonstrated
commitment and service to their national QFD community. Past
